I made the CustoMac Mini 2011 build, except I bought the Intel Core i3-2120 Dual-Core Processor 3.3 GHz 3 MB Cache LGA 1155 by accident. I've gotten to work flawlessly with some hackery, but it only works as HD 2000 video - per the specs of the CPU.

If I get a card like this, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0088TKS20/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=tonymacx86com-20 will this allow me to have either HD 3000 or HD 4000 video or equivalent? The only downside of my current HD 2000 setup, is that I cannot utilize video in applications such as Final Cut Pro and iMovie.

Would love an answer for this, and thank you!

Intel HD 2000, 3000, or 4000 are integrated graphics controllers in the processor. Your processor only has intel HD 2000. As such, you will never have HD 3000 or 4000 with your current setup, unless you upgrade the processor.

However, using a discrete graphics card such as the one you linked will work fine for you. As I understand it, that card works OOB in ML, with QI/CE enabled. So, you should be able to use those apps just fine. Basically, the HD 2000 graphics will be disabled when you install your discrete graphics card. Good luck!

Perfect, that's what I thought. Thanks so much!
