After upgrading to 10.6.6, my computer screen now freezes blue whenever I try to change screen resolution. The resolution changes after a reboot, but this is very annoying. I definitely didn't have this problem in 10.6.4, and I'm not sure if I ever tried 10.6.5. My monitor is set up with a VGA cable. Is there any workaround to this issue in 10.6.6?

Edit: If it helps, here's a picture of what System Profiler shows

I have the same problem! Maybe use Strings?

Hmmm not sure how string editing works.

I've downgraded and found that the problem also exists in 10.6.5.

No problems in 10.6.4, but I'm still hoping someone can find a fix to get this to work in 10.6.6

@trwoolley

I did everything in the install process, with the exception of using 10.6.4 instead of 10.6.5 (seeing as 10.6.5 gave me issues)

I did use the correct DSDT for my mobo and firmware.

I used NVEnabler and GraphicsEnabler

tonymacx86 says:
A common misnomer, you will not need the NVenabler.kext for 9800GT- it is supported via Chameleon's GraphicsEnabler by default.

I have the 9800GTX and no problem with resolution changes under 10.6.6. I do not use the NV Graphics Enabler. Just the DSDT and install related to that.

Same here. All through MultiBeast 3.0.3 - no worries!

Both of my builds have QE/CI, both have NVidia 9800 GT graphic cards. I did nothing other than use the very latest DSDT from the tonymacx86 database and follow the instructions in the latest 3.10 MultiBeast instructions.

What methods have you tried, and what were your results?
