Cannot use the cloverALC method with a patched AppleHDA.kext. Backup and remove:
1. config.plist:

2. EFI/CLover/Kexts/10.10/realtekALC.kext.

I did the changes. After the reboot Mic seems to be working as it shows progress bar movement in the sound setting.

Audio output devices also available , but there is no sound coming from speakers.

EDIT: Sound is working from HeadPhone jacks.
selected output device: internalspeaker, Audio output: HeadPhone Jack1 (Verygood clarity)
selected output device: LineOut, Audio output: HeadPhone Jack2 (Little low on quality)

Thanks for the step-by-step. Here are my answers to your questions for problem reporting.

1. No sound through headphones plugged into front or back of computer. System Preferences/Sound/Output shows “No Output Devices”.
2. OSX10.10.1. Gigabyte GA-Z97M-D3H. Intel i5-4690K. BIOS version F5 dated 5/30/2014. Onboard graphics only, no video card.
3. Procedure/Guide Used: used this guide, followed steps 1.2 (but did not see how to remove npci=0x3000), 2 (found HDEF with @ something after it), 3 (layout ID 01 00 00 00 for both HDEF’s), 4 (Codec ok), 5 (Opened the info.plist file using textedit and found ALC892 in it but not sure how to check other items), 6, 7 (I'm using HDMI for my monitor, wondering if my audio is going there?)

Kext version = 269.25-toledaALC892 . I can't see an OS version inside the kext. Googling that kext version number comes up next to 10.10.2 a lot, so I assume that's what I have, but not sure how to get the 10.10.1 version?

Note that I had assumed my kext was 10.10.1 because the AppleHDA.kext I installed from Multibeast has this description:

Replaces /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext with a patched 10.10.1 AppleHDA.kext edited by toleda to enable full functionality for the Realtek ALC892 high-definition audio codec.

In any case, assuming my kext is the wrong version, where can I get the 10.10.1 one?
