jonnynogood You're probably going to have to wait until the 580's ID is integrated into a bootloader
So do we need a new version of iBoot with a new version of Chameleon?

New driver tested on GTX-470 - MSi-Twin-Frozer.

Ran the nvidia install
put in the card
booted and all is good.

Finally. Awesome!

FYi using Chameleon2.0 RC5 - Prerelease

rabbit.

edit/ The 470 feels much faster and better than my GTX-280 but in Cinibench:
GTX-470=25.55-FPS
GTX-280=29.32-FPS

weird.

I just sold my GTS450 and get a 5770 for days and seeeeee this !

At all , Nvidia perf back on 10.6.5 , after so many quicksands

tks NVIDIA

does the 480 work with cuda? did you guys check that? does the 580?

Are you using Mac Pro 3,1 or 4,1? If you're using 4,1 have you edited your AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext/Contents/Info.plist's MacPro4,1 section so power states kick in correctly?

@kamaji:

what makes you think that? because it's in the official setup-pdf?

if yes, then i wouldnt be that sure. because officially there is als a minimal requirement mentioned of two graphic cards (one card only works too).

and the software will not check that, i am quite sure with that. one of their selling argument according to the ads: if you plug-in better graphic cards, your grading solution will grow too automatically...

if you have other arguments, please let me know. that would be a sad thing for me...

and, once again: i haven't found a gtx580 thread at insanelymac, and noone so far confirmed the gtx480 or 580 yet...

plz let me know!

i think after this weekend there will be more info on these new cards once people go out to get them and try to make them work.

Works Awesome!

Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB OC - (OC by GigaByte)

Installed fresh system with newest iBoot with -x option
installed 10.6.5 update
installed necessary things with MultiBeast
REBOOT
installed Nvidia drivers (changed plist temporary to MacPro 5,1 for easy install)
set GraphicsEnabler to Yes
REBOOT
