Maverics Hardware Compatility

Hi,
I have built a fully working hackintosh a few months ago and I need to build another one. I have learned a lot about compatibility and drivers etc but I still need to be sure about what I'm buying. I want this build to be a Mavericks desktop and a budget one too(250-350). Do you need to have mavericks running on your computer to make the OS X 10.9 flash drive or can you just download it? I'll go with mountain L if I have to install mavericks to my computer( I don't want to mess anything up). If you could tell me if these would work or give me new suggestions, thanks!

People have been having problems getting these Pentium chips running on Mavericks. This is the budget builds that are suggested at present:

The Wifi model that you link to does not work - look for the 4800 model (its in the buyers guide under accessories)
The WD Green HDDs are not well suited to using for the main boot drives - they are low power - the one that you link to would also need the Boot0 guide treatment to boot. This model is a better option and does not need the Boot0 guide methods applied to work:

For Haswell hardware it is very important to make sure that your memory and PSU models are Haswell compatible. In the case of RAM, there are less chances of freezes if your memory is on the memory support list (see the downloads section of the motherboard)

As for DVD drives - I have sen people having problems with the Samsung SH-224. I have a SH-223 (retail pack) and it works great. I also use the LiteOn iHAS124-4 in my Ivy Bridge build which is still available from Amazon.

PSU - The CS 450M is certified as being Haswell compatible although a little more expensive to purchase it guarantees that you will not suffer random freezes due to the PSU not being able to cope.

Would all my hardware besides WD green and wifi device work if i had 10.8.4 on it? I think I will go with the CS 450M and LiteOn though,
Thanks!

You should be fine with 10.8.5 - One way that you might get this to work is to use your original build hardware for the 10.8.4 installation, update via the 10.8.5 combo update and then fit this drive in your new Haswell build. I can run my 10.8.5 drive on my Mavericks build without any problems. You may need to make ethernet/audio changes or just do final post installation MultiBeast settings once the HDD is in your new Haswell build.
