Hi Friends,
I want to install Monterey OS to my system. It was sitting idle with Yosemite. I want to start fresh.

My hardware configuration is as follows:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H
CPU Intel Core: i7-3770K Ivy Bridge

Graphics: Asus GT640 2GD3

Can someone please confirm, whether I will be able to run Monterey OS on the above-mentioned configuration?

Your guidance and suggestion are highly appreciated.

Regards,

macscm

HD4000 is unsupported and the GT 640 is unsupported in Monterey. You could use Big Sur and not have to upgrade the graphics. For Monty, you'd need a supported AMD card.

Thank you. So with Big Sur I will be ok. One more question is it worth it to use this hardware for the latest Mac OS like Big Sur. Any performance issues?

Nope, will work well. As long as you have 8GB of ram or more. 16 is perfect.
