On the look out for one of these. I'm building a machine off on an old Linux box whose card went tits up, unfortunately. There's a lot of good advice, but most of the cards are not high-profile. I also find it weird it's rather difficult to find a cards maximum resolution these days . Should I assume they all handle 2560x1900?

Thanks.

XFX 5770 single-slot (they make a few versions, I'm using the one that ends in ZMF3, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150501)

I'm assuming you meant 2560 x 1600 (not 1900).

Only problem is finding one (ebay?). If the 5 x mDP will work, that one is always for sale on Newegg and Amazon.

Hi. Yes, 2560x1600 -- (not 1900). Brain fart.
However, I'm using a micro case. I need low-profile. Non-low profile simply won't fit.

What do you mean by low-profile then? That card is a single-slot card that's got an almost flat fan on it (and runs quietly). It's half or less the thickness of a typical GPU.

Low profile fit in the really narrow cases. The ones in the link above are not low-profile. But, alas, I've gone w/ a Radeon HD 5450 which apparently works. Having some issues w/ it but I've not had a chance to dig much. Cheers for all of the suggestions.
