Another convert... :D

Sharkoon cheap USB3 PCIE (this is the FD20202 version), but after flashing it, works excellent.

I had a problem with µPD720202 from Renesas under 10.9.x on my MacPro (early 2009---but MacPro5,1); failed to recognize USB 3.0 card reader.

Almost all attempt failed; downloading drivers, kexts, including multiple versions of MultiBeasts' USB 3.0 drivers.

Funny thing, the latest version (3187-PXHCD.kext) doesn't seems recognize the existence of USB 3.0 card.

Hi all,

Strange USB 3.0 behaviour !!!!!

System_ GA X58A UD5, i7 930, OSX 10.9.2.

So USB 3 chip is NEC/Renesas, and known issues are there.

I installed using UB 6.0, Everything was fine after installing including USB 3 tested
and was working fine with the drive I was testing.

After a week I connected another drive(Seagate Expansion Desk-2TB with Power).
With this particular Brand and model USB 3 is only reading at full speed. Writing speed
is terrific, some times less than 2 MB/s while read speed is always above 120 MB/s.

I further tested with different drives including Seagate portable drives which all are working as expected.
I even tested the USB 3 port by connecting a SD card, read- write- format all work and perform as expected. Tested with Toshiba and WD drives, works OK. Only trouble so far tested is the Seagate Expansion Dest- it is read only on USB 3. Working as usual in USB 2.0 port. Same system performs
well all USB 3 activities in Win 7. Any idea?. Can somebody help me. We have several Seagate drives here.

The kext currently installed is GenericUSBXHCI-Version 1.2.7.

i have an original MacPro1,1 running 10.7.5 and just installed a NEC USB 3.0 card...

vendor id 0x1033
device id 0x0194

Is there anyway I can get it to run?

I have a NEC uPD720201(Revision 3)
Pm25LD512C/512C2(Chingis), Product ID = 0x019D207F.

When trying to flash my card as a Lacie, I have this message error :

ismajc,

freedos only allows 8 character file names. Type dir/p to view files in directory.
I believe you should type "cfg_20~1.ini" instead of "1cfg_201_v2.ini"

thank you whosondephone ! I sucessfully flashed it to Sonnet id but when I connect drives, it not mounting...
any idea ?

Update :

tried with caldigit but no kext is loaded after reboot, but the kext are installed. Help !

update : tried apple kext and still not working.
