I want to obtain hot-swap and to turn off the drives on eject. I suppose that will be possible if the drives would appear as external (and treated as such by the OS).

Is there a way to make the GSATA (the two 3rd party SATA ports on the board) drives appear external again without re-installing the os and multibeast?

Thanks for any suggestion

Yes, you need to install the third party eSATA kext that comes with multibeast, but it might turn all your drives into external drives. You'll have to try and see. Don't forget to delete any old SATA related kext you might've installed before installing the eSATA kext.

thanks, tried re-installing the esata drivers and now all my drives are external.

a more useful situation would be to have the first 4 ports internal, and the last two external. is there a way to tweak the extensions to make them discern the ports (chipset for example)
