add in com.apple.boot.plist
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>npci=0x2000</string>

or edit DSDT.
add in Device (PCI0) line Name (_UID, Zero) or rename _ADR in _UID

CODE:
Device (PCI0)
{
Name (_ADR, Zero)
Name (_UID, Zero)
Name (_BBN, Zero)
Name (_CID, EisaId ("PNP0A03"))
Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0A08"))
...

okay ill do that..

but i want to ask first

in the startup (iBoot), i put

npci=0x2000 -v -usercache

but still stack at [PCI Configuration Begin]

i doubt if it will be like that

try npci=0x3000...

i just did that... but still same..

[PCI configuration begin]

Those multibeast options worked on my one drive, but on the clone when i selected the 64 bit boot option I was back to the same problems.

Finally up and running after alot of hard work! I have a ga-h55m-usb3 board with an i7-870. My only problem now is that when the computer wakes from sleep it loses its internet, and sometimes when I boot I have no usb ports, have to restart and then they come back. Any suggestions anyone?

On the first port, it says use this kext (its the iopci) to install. There is no link to that kext, or the updated multibeast, both of which would be useful.

It's in the latest MultiBeast- available in downloads:

Thanks Tony!!

I had updated to 10.6.8 using the OS X automatic update and lost my sound. I went to your site, followed your troubleshooting tips....and now I am good...thanks to you. :headbang:

I hope updating to Lion will be that simple

Thank you for your post,
I spent last 2 days struggling to update to 10.6.8
If that work, it'll be great,
I'm trying now,, any ways thank you again

New build specs...

GA-X58a-UD3R FE
Core i7 960
12 GB 3 CHANNEL DDR3 RAM (kingston hyperX only 4G installed)
XFX HD 5770
1 TB WD CAVIAR GREEN
CORSAIR HD50
NZXT PHANTOM CASE

I followed all instructions given in guides i have come across related to my motherboard and Snow Leopard install DVD 10.6.3...Everything went perfect with no hiccups whatsoever. Once I updated to combo update 10.6.8 and ran MultiBeast I restarted.Rebooted without any disk on my DVD drive and successfully began to boot until I reach a " restart the computer" panic screen which continues to show every time I reboot after the apple logo. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Following this attempt I went ahead and reformatted the hard drive. Installed retail dvd (10.6.3), skipped 6.8 combo update and ran multibeast with easybeast and system utilities and restarted. Machine rebooted with no problem with the exception of not knowing how to properly configure and implement multibeast with my mobo DSDT and any other kexts I might need (this is my first time building a hackintosh so please work with me)...

Hi,

This is my first post here
Followed
http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ ... -x-on.html
and most of it went fine - now I have 10.6.8 working (sound and network).

The only problems are :
- the display will stay in 1024x768 unless I set it in iBoot to 1280x1024.

- Why iBoot? Because otherwise OS X will NOT boot from it's drive :banghead: . The startup will get stuck in the screen with the apple in the center. When doing a verbose boot, the error shown is about a firewire interface, for which the system decides it should set some permissions...

So if I want OS X I have to put the iBoot disk in, and it works.

Any of you guys seen this before? It would be awesome to be able to boot from disk  ?

Keep it up Tony  Thanks!

P.S. I have a P5B-VM DO motherboard with Intel core 2 Duo, 3 G of ram and 3 internal HDs.
