Low VRAM for HD4600 in my Hackintosh running Mavericks

Were you ever able to get this fixed? I have the same problem.

I gave up. I think it had something to do with the motherboard. Investing in a cheap GPU that you know is compatible may save the trouble.

That it is working, connect a monitor to the HDMI port and you will see your desktop, it does for me.
Unfortunately it disables internal monitor of the laptop, so just HDMI is working. If someone has a solution to enable HD4600 both HDMI and internal display please post instructions.
