Hi - Have just upgraded to UEFI on my system with the following config:

Intel Core i7 2600K UNLOCKED
GByte GA-Z68XP-UD3 GEN 3 MOBO
ATI RADEON 1GB SFX HD6870 PCI-E

Currently got Lion installed on an mSATA drive.

The BIOS version is U1j

Keep getting kernel panic on boot now.

Have carried out instructions as per here:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/123-how-upgrade-bios-uefi-gigabyte-s-6-series-motherboards.html

When I try selecting the default boot drive in the BIOS I get:

P3: DVD drive
P1: SSD drive
UEFI: Same SSD drive
UEFI: mSATA boot drive.

I don't seem to be able to select the mSATA boot drive without UEFI.

Whenever I boot from that drive or indeed a USB unibeast drive I get kernel panics.

Have loaded defaults, set SATA as AHCI etc as per the doc above.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Gileswr

post a picture of the panic.

Have posted a pic of the panic when booting from Mountain Lion Unibeast drive (image1a - more easily visible) and when booting from boot disk (image2a).

Thanks in advance,
Gileswr

FYI - Was on F8 BIOS before. Flashed back to F10 and it's now booting fine (after setting SATA Mode back to AHCI).

So just a problem with UEFI.

Might try staying on version F10 and upgrade to Mountain Lion. Does upgrading to UEFI give me anything particular that F10 won't?

As I'm upgrading to ML - Is there anyone with any comments on my other post?

I installed 1J today and haven't had any issues yet. I don't have speakers hooked up at the moment, nor do I have my video card installed. Will test later. Would like to see more feedback on this UEFI upgrade.
