How did you set up your BIOS? Make sure that you enable Optimized Defaults, and then set AHCI mode (probably in more than one place) and HPET to 64-bit.

BIOS set up correctly Even went as as far as disabling sound,LAN, serial port etc, but same result everytime. Didn't want to waste more time so I just got up and running. Willing to try solutions if anyone has one for the sake of finding the precise nature of the fault

I have almost the same problem. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I had the same problem : I was trying to install from USB pen drive with iBoot.
Then I tried tonymacx86P55bootcd and it worked!

My problem is: I'm able to boot only in safe mode. When I'm trying to boot in normal mode I stuck in blue screen.

I should tell that I've used combined method:
1. booting for installation with tonymacx86P55bootcd
2. Restarting with iboot (first time boot)
3. Installing combo update + multi beast (gigabyte ga-p55m-ub4 with corei7-860)

I'm not sure that is right

Now I'm looking for solution for "blue screen"...
Update:
I'm able to boot in normal mode with iBootCD

Hi,

I have the same problem. I am using Iboot ATI burnt on a CD and Mac OS X Install DVD, burnt on a usb key.

When I try to boot the install dvd, I stuck on "using system-type=0x01".

I have a ga-p55-ud3, an i5 750 and I did all the bios settings needed (bios version : F9).

Any idea ?

Thanks.

Are you using a purchased retail version of Snow Leopard?

We do not support or discuss distributions on this forum. We only support installations using purchased retail version of Snow Leopard per http://www.tonymacx86.com/faq.php#f0r3.

Hi,

I do not discuss about other distros.

Anyway, I am using the image my apple developer license (almost 500$/year) gave me. Why should I buy another original retail DVD ? My only problem is that i havent any dual layer blank dvd.

I've used another computer to create a partition on my 1tb HDD and write the image in it using diskutils. It's working better than the USB key. I think it's logical, because we are supposed to use only the SATA_0 and SATA_1 ports to success.

Now it works a little better, but I am stuck on "ACPI_SMC_PlatFormPlugin::start - waitForService(ressourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out".

I remind you I am not talking about illegal things, I am just an apple lover that try all the exotics ways to get a Mac Os X working.

Thanks.
