@billbrown - You used Clover first....then Chimera. The OP won't appreciate that.

No neither do I (appreciate it). I can't get Clover to boot on my X79-UD5 from 2012, it needs a BIOS Flash upgrade which I do NOT want to do when it's working so well other than iMessage. Clover boots up immediately to junk on my screen (not even to the point of selecting a boot drive), and I've spent days trying to fix it to only be told by someone doing a Clover guide on another site that my BIOS needs updating.

I am putting in my vote for a non-Clover solution, but I recognize the difficulty if the person who did the NVRAM kext is AWOL, and nobody else knows how to do it (I certainly don't, sorry guys)
