My name is Chris; I'm working on my first Hackintosh.
After setting everything up according to info found on this site (hardware and bios settings), I try to boot from the iBoot CD (2.6) and get an error: "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER."
Sorry for shouting; I'm only echoing what I see on my screen.
Bios settings used: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/iboot-multibeast-install-mac-os-x-on.html (checked these settings five times).
Hardware:
- MB: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 Rev 1.3
- Intel i7 2600K 3.4 GHz
- 4 Gig Corsair Vengeance RAM (will be 16 Gig; for now, just one slot filled)
- Gigabyte HD6870 1GB D5 OC video card
- Sony SATA DVD burner
- Seagate 1TB HD
- Corsair 650 Watt PS
The only thing I can find that might be different is that I found instructions somewhere on this site telling my to use the Blue SATA 0 and 1 slots on the motherboard. I do not have blue 0 and 1, I have white 0 and 1, then blue 2, 3, 4, and 5. I tried the white 0 and 1 (Sata3?), but the DVD drive and HD were not seen on startup. They ARE seen when plugged into 3 and 4.
FYI, I found a working build using the same gear I purchased.

I'm wondering if my Sony DVD drive is bad...
Thanks ahead of time for any help.
