Hi!

I recently acquired this laptop (Intel [email protected], 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD4000 GPU, 500GB 5400rpm SATA HDD - see attached photo of BIOS System info screen).
I followed this (http://goo.gl/iwHTX) racerrehabman's tutorial to manage, in my case, a triple boot (Win8 64bit, Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and Ubuntu 12.10 64bit).
Everything went fine and i am now able to boot all three OSes.
But I did skip over installing Chimera as a default boot loader.
To boot in in ML I'm, for now, using the same USB stick I used for Mountain Lion installation (8GB stick with ML 10.8.2 created in VirtualBox Machine using Unibeast ML 1.5.3 with both options checked: Laptop support, Legacy USB support). And I need to add "-v GraphicsEnabler=No" as boot options so I can boot normaly.

What I want now is to setup everything that can be setup before I commit this changes to the HDD and install Chimera to it.

Can anyone point me if it is possible to setup Intel HD4000 to use full acceleration? And what about wireless? What other kexts do I need to make this a stable boot option?
I'll write any info You require me to if it helps...
I'm off from work this week so I'm hoping I can set it up properly during this period :)

I got my 6470b HD 4000 to work with this EFI string (cant test the displayport, i dont have any DP monitors, but a HDMI adapter is on its way) but the VGA out doesnt work.
Code:
<key>device-properties</key><string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000004006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>

Maybe we should join threads and forces since we are talking basically about the same hardware. Whats your native screen resolution?

I'll try it tomorrow and report back.

OK. But how to do it? And... I'm interested in sorting some other stuff also - like minimal set of kexts needed and that sort of thing

I did try it. And it seems to work... At least on laptop LCD, I still haven't tried HDMI out - will do that later.
But everything seems sluggish somehow - for example when I click maximize window (green button) in Safari it slowly draws bigger, and bigger window :(

But it's a progress :)

Can someone list me a minimal set of kexts needed for configuration like mine?

This is a list of Extensions folder on my boot disk at the moment:
Code:
Misels-MacBook-Pro:~ misel$ cd /Volumes/ML_USB_INSTALL/Extra/Extensions/
Misels-MacBook-Pro:Extensions misel$ ls -l

You should probably try a different EFI string, on my notebook all animations work perfectly and i have a different configuration it seems, since i have a displayport not a HDMI.

Maybe you should send here a more detailed HW report, here is mine for reference:
Code:
[COLOR=#000000]CPU Type Mobile DualCore Intel Core i5-3320M, 3100 MHz (31 x 100)CPU Type [/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Motherboard Chipset Intel Panther Point QM77, Intel Ivy Bridge[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]System Memory 3961 MB (DDR3-1600 DDR3 SDRAM)[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Video Adapter Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (1831790 KB)[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Monitor LG Philips LP140WD1-TLD2 [14" LCD][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Audio Adapter IDT 92HD81B1X @ Intel Panther Point PCH - High Definition Audio Controller [C-1][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]IDE Controller JMicron PCIe SD Host Controller[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Disk Drive MTFDDAK128MAM-1J1 (128 GB, SATA-III)[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Optical Drive hp DVD A DS8A8SH[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Network Adapter Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Network Adapter Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter[/COLOR]

For kexts, for now I use this (temporary till dsdt isn't fixed):

Code:
E/E/
NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
FakeSMC.kext
ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext
AppleIntelE1000e.kext (ethernet)
AppleACPIPlataform.kext

S/L/E/
VoodooPS2Controller.kext
