Hey all,
I'm not a computer whiz by any means... Just been following the tutorials on this site. I finally have Mountain Lion up and running on my Lenovo thinkpad twist with about 90% of the features working.
I have an i7 3517u 1.9GHz processor and 8GB ram. The ram is soldered. I'm wondering if it would be possible to desolder the ram and install a larger ram. I don't know if the computer will automatically be able to recognize the larger ram or not.
Is this possible? Or is it possible to find a replacement mobo that doesn't have the ram soldered on?
Hopefully I don't pain you with stupid questions. Just hoping to get the most out of my hack. Thanks!
PS: I did post the same topic in mountain lion support, but realized it probably doesn't fit in that forum.
