Yes, removal is easy. If Voodoo pref pane installed, remove. Verify S/L/E/ AppleHDA.kext is present. Restart and confirm onboard audio.

OS X HDMI Nvidia 9xx audio works with specific Nvidia Web drivers depending on OS X 10.10 version.
