How the heck do I install windows 8.1 from a .exe file??

So i purchased windows 8.1 from the microsoft website and they gave me a download. The download was a .exe file so I can't open it on my hackintosh. (I've tried using Winebottler and similar programs but I don't think they work with opening actual OS files.) I couldn't find an .iso download on Microsoft's website either. Even on tonymacx86 the only installation guide i could find required using a cd instead of the download file. I don't even have a cd drive on my computer!
What am i supposed to do?

Download it on a Windows machine and make installation media (CD/DVD or USB Stick).

Yeah, the exe file is a downloader program that fetches the install media. From there you can burn it to a disk, put it on a USB, etc. Must be done on a windows machine.
