[SOLVED] Hidden Files/Folders trash System Drive

Hello

The SSD where ML is installed on has a capacity of 60GB. If I sum-up the sizes of all folders showed in finder it only gets me around 10GB.

Nevertheless, Disk Utility and Finder shows me only 18GB of available space. This means, >30GB of diskspace are taken by hidden files/folders. How can I find them?

I even think that something is creating tons of log entries or thelike which reduces available diskspace constantly.

How much memory do you use?
Depending on your sleep settings,hard drive stores active state of memory from sleep.
I only learned this lately.
Try turning off sleep and rebooting.
Also see if you still have Install ML App in system that is 6/7 gigs.

Thank you for your post.

I have 32GB of RAM installed and - surprise - sleep image is around 34GB.

I wasn't aware that the sleep image would require +/- as much space as the RAM
