Hi, I'm new to the forum!
I'm an italian VideoEditor.
I work with FinalCutPro 7/X and with Adobe After Effects Cs5.
I now have an early 2009 iMac 24' i've been waiting for the new MacPro until now but there are no clues of when it will be introduced.
I need a beast! :)
I mean, now i really need some power because my poor iMac doesn't manage 2K footage very well as you can imagine :)
Can you recommend me a? precise and truly powerful, working configuration from Start to Finish?
Thank you for your time! :)

If it were me, and money wasn't an issue, I'd buy something like this:

i7 2600k Processor - 325$
Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU Cooler - 30$
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P Mobo - 180$
16GB (4x4GB) Corsair DDR3 1600 RAM - 95$
OWC Mercury 6G 60GB SSD - 105$
2x Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB Drives (In RAID0) - 240$
EVGA GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB - $420
Corsair 850W Modular PSU - 175$

For a grand total of $1570. ;)

If you have more money to throw at this I suggest either getting a second graphics card (OSX can use 2 GPUs for OpenCL, which heavily used by FCPX), a decent soundcard, and/or a nice 1920x1200 monitor or two.

Good luck!

Thank you!!
I would spend something around 1500€ which should be around 2000 $.
Could you reccomend me a good second graphic card and a good sound card
that surlely works with lion?
For the monitor, no problem,i've a 42' samsung tv waiting for the HDMI
from my computer.
Is it possible also to rise the RAM to 24, respecting the budget?
Do you think i should wait for the Ivy Bridge?

Really really thank you!

I was forgetting to specify that i'll need a blu-ray burner on this.
Do you know any model that surely works?

Samsung SH-B123L

Seems like the Samsung SH-B123L is only a Blu-Ray reader and not a Blu-Ray Burner...
Thanks anyway...
Knowing other useful models?

LG WH10LS30K?

I haven't had any problems with the LG H20L Drives, but I haven't tried any newer writers yet, as the H20L has run strong through 3 motherboards, 2 video cards, and 3 different processors.

Thank you, keep huntin'!
