It works!

did the trick. Kind of weird, but hey!

You could use arch=x86_64 as well. This enables the 64bit-mode for the Apple Finder. I am using the 32bit-mode Finder for full compatiblity with the NTFS-3G driver (write access for NTFS drives).

You can check the mode the finder is operating in by simply tying uname -a in the terminal. If something like the following is displayed than the finder is operating in 64bit-mode.

Darwin stq.local 10.7.0 Darwin Kernel Version 10.7.0: Sat Jan 29 15:16:10 PST 2011; root:xnu-1504.9.37~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64
