Hackintosh Won't Boot

So you are saying that if I buy the 8800GS, put it in and start up the iboot with the retail cd it will work, but if I want to update to 10.6.7 or .8 then it might not work. What if I just didn't update it from 10.6.3 and left it?

I couldn't find anywhere to buy the 8800GS so I have decided on the geforce 8400GS but when I checked the wiki it said that it was supported in 10.6.4. I only have a 10.6.3 retail dvd so I don't know if it will let me boot because it is not updated to the supported os version. Do you think it would work in 10.6.3? If not, how could I update it so it would boot and let me install? Thanks.
