[Guide] Update Sony 'S' Series to Clover & Yosemite

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

Hi, Jay,

I did a reinstall of Yosemite. It seems resolved the Bluetooth problem but still could not wake up from sleep.

A little surprise thing is that I did not disable USB legacy mode and USB 3 port still works with the Clover patch.

But the BCM4352 just stays at 73Mbps. It could not find the 5G hotpot and it seems the 5G part is not enabled. For the AW-CE123H card with Clover patches, do I still need to install bcm4352.kext and BTFirmwareUploader.kexts?

And another problem. When I reinstall, I had two partitions on the SSD in the primary bay. Here were the steps:

1) Install Yosemite with Unibeast
2) After booting with Unibeast USB into the installed Yosemite, install Clover
3) Installed Linux Mint.

After Linux Mint was installed, it won't give a boot option for Yosemite.

4) Went back to Yosemite with Unibeast USB, reinstalled Clover.

But the Clover won't discover the Mint boot? Anyway to fix that? Or I just have to manually add the boots into the GUI section?

Hey @Jay
I'm thinking that a fresh reinstall may resolve the problem.
So, I want to make sure the steps I need to do it.
1. Install Yosemite from unibeast.
2. Log in from unibeast at first time.
3. Install the clover and use your congfig file and DSDT
4. Install the Kexts (so, for this step, I'm not sure which kext should be installed to S/L/E in Yosemite.

The AW-CE123H combo card was working fine with 5Ghz enabled. After I did a fresh install of 10.10.2 (not 10.10 and then the combo update). The 5Gz could no longer get enabled. The speed also dropped from 140Mbps to about 70 Mpbs with the 802.11.n router.

Here is the System Information dump for 10.10.2:

I don't know why the card's firmware gets updated for the fresh install as well as Local and Country Code. I tried the two different 5.0 Gzh patch in the config-bcm94352-100.plist from Toleda's Airport enablers as well the patch I used in 10.10, but just could not get the WiFi card work at 5.0 Ghz.

Any pointers?

@rchen29, @ppgh550 ....

Yes you need all of the kexts that were used in the previous Mavericks build, however ensure that you have updated them to the latest versions before starting the Yosemite update - see the pre-requisites section of the new guide.

With regards to WiFi speed & 5Ghz, it sounds like your using the old set of clover patches that i posted a few weeks ago, those patches only worked with 10.10.0 & 10.10.1 you must use the patches from the new guide for 10.10.2.

Cheers
Jay

I downloaded your new kext patches and the BCM4352 works at 5Ghz now.

I found that when the camera works when the bluetooth part works, which in turns depends on USB 2 part. I now enabled USB legacy support which works with USB3 under 10.10.2.

Hey @Jay
I really need you help. So I reinstalled from my fresh 10.0.1 unibeast flash drive. Then I installed all the Keats and clover. But I still for the exactly same thing.
When I try to boot with my unibeast try to install Nullpower kext , it says "boot0: done boot 1: error". So I can't even log into the system or do another installment now. Really don't know why.

Is your hard drive using MBR or GPT? I only had the problem when the drive was using MBR.

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

I found the reason. I delete the boot file in unibeast by accident. Thanks!
