Lenovo U410/U310 Yosemite Guide

After my 4th attempt on installing yosemite on my U310 i3, I end with my knowledge what to do.
Every time after install I get the same error message, after cold boot.
First attempt I didn't follow the exact install order, and installed kext first and patched then DSDT with MaciASL.
Patched then DSDT one by one (always reboot after each) and ended with the fix_WAKv2.
Error is always: "pxsx cannot assert wake from d3cold".

That (would not call it an 'error' will not prevent boot).

On 5th attempt, I followed the exact order to install. Everything works perfect, even sleep, that doesn't work for me with Mavericks. No errors with Restart and cold boot... just for 3 day's.
After update of Little snitch app, I got the same error message again.

You don't have graphics working correctly. What did you do with the graphics kexts? Check system.log for errors.

Also, power management is not implemented correctly (no SSDT perhaps?).

The only difference on my system is, that I had to use the RealtekRTL8100-RC1 kext, instead of AppleRTL8169Ethernet 2.0.6 from Multicast. This didn't recognize my ethernet.

Mieze's kext is a better solution. With 8169 you have to set the link to 10mbps, half-duplex.

Thanks for responding.
You're right, it's a boot hang ;-)

I didn't change graphics kext.
I used the DSDT Patches as described in install guide.

In BIOS I don't have the option to disable NVIDIA Optimus.
I patched HD4000 Low res and the ACPIBacklight kext, and Brightness Fix.
System.log tells me it can't load AppleIntelHD4000Graphics.kext in safe mode, what is ok.
On other hand, I'm not familiar with reading system log right.

SSDT is installed with HP Probook Installer 6.
Maybe I need to take another i3 Definition.
BIOS shows i3 3217U.
I just can choose from 2310m, 2330m, 2350m and 2370m

Attached system.log of last boot.

If you didn't modify the kexts, why is this..
Code:
Nov 16 20:26:55 Andys-MacBook-Pro.local com.apple.kextd[19]: ERROR: invalid signature for com.apple.driver.AppleIntelFramebufferCapri, will not load

If you did patch the kext (common for HDMI-audio), you need to use kernel flag kext-dev-mode=1.

I really don't know, why, cause I load that kext with all others shown in Guide in one step.

If you did patch the kext (common for HDMI-audio), you need to use kernel flag kext-dev-mode=1.

I edit the flag this morning in org.chameleon.Boot.plist, and endet with boot hang even with boot options -f -v

I did a fresh install again, and everything works again, except AUDIO
I didn't change kext-dev-mode until now.

So you did modify the kext...

You need use use kext-dev-mode=1. FYI: It is provided automatically with Multibeast...

I know that, and I've changed kext-dev-mode again.
After reboot, OSx stopped booting with same message "pxsx cannot assert wake from d3cold"
But now, I still have the correct graphics resolution with boot flag -f

Something must be still wrong with my configuration?!

Likely you have some sort of graphics problem. No idea without hardware details...

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

FYI: You are using the wrong version of the ProBook Installer.

Need to install Win 1st later, to provide you the hardware specs.

Which one is correct?
I found one from March2014, version 6.1.13r3

Does not correlate with what you wrote in post #12. That version does not have individual options for specific CPUs.
