Mobo: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution
For example, typical Ivy laptop:
Mobo: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768
Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.
Note: When specifying your bootloader, if using Clover legacy, please be sure to specify "Clover legacy"). Specifying "Clover" will be assumed as "Clover UEFI"
Laptops with AMD graphics only are not supported by this guide.
can you tell me please what should I choose for 1366x768?
When I select Windows10 icon from Clover, after booting into Windowns then, it will set its own bootmgrfw.efi as first boot order. So, it will automatically boot into Windows instead of Clover next time. Any best advice?
Not sure if I did this right.
Thanks RehabMan,
I decided to clean install completely and it worked fine, appart from the known audio issue.
I then installed Logic 9 and it turns out it is not supported anymore in El Capitan. I'll have to start all over again with Yosemite or Mavericks.
Can Mavericks be installed with Clover using the same method ?
Thanks RehabMan,
I will be switching this laptop today then.
Do you think ill have a better experience with the 8460p?
What would you recommend since I don't have much experience?
Hi luke I've the same laptop and it is Just perfect with osx.HP ProBook 450 G3 Skylake
The only things perfectly functioning are the trackpad and ethernet.
I cannot seem to get the audio, keyboard shortcuts, or WiFi to work.
I know it has been mentioned that Intel WiFi does not work but I was wondering if that had changed. The audio codec is Conexant CX7501.
