hey can u please explain in detail how u got your gtx 295 to install with quartz extreme thanks really appreciate it.

<BUMP>

I also have a Geforce GTX 295 (made by BFG) and have snow leopard up and running.

Everything looks good in "about this mac" but I don't think I'm using the full potential of this awesome card. I have yet to install any nvidia drivers, cuda or anything. Dual monitor output to HDMI is not working yet either.

Can you share your method for getting your card and drivers? Much appreciated!

Hey, I had it working( 1-->GTX 295 Dual PCB Bios Rom 62.00.4E.00.02/03) in 10.6.8 no problem since 10.6.0 using that guide over a year ago. BUT NOW after I upgraded it to Lion only the HDMI port was working---No DVIs--- meaning that only of the 2 graphics card/port was working, so I messed up and now I'm installing 10.6.8 ready to the proper upgrade again.

My issue is that i get the same low low low resolution that u were getting.. it boots fine with no flags or flags. I've tried (pmVersion=0 -v npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=No / Yes etc..). I've also boot into -s and removed the Ge* and NV* etc. and I got it to boot with the low low low resolution. I got a copy of my original EFI-string and the same thing, so I did it again with more details of my card like the ROM...but same results.. I don't know if I should use my old kexts...

I will install the nvidia drivers 19.5.8f03 to check what's going on...
Any advise??

I'm running Alienware Desktop with Alienware's X58 mobo and Using Multibeast+iboot>>>easybeast settings but no flags...my system booted fine with no flags before.

Finally, I figured it out!!! I got GTX 295 (dual PCB) fully working on Snow Leopard. I can share results in u need them. Then, I upgraded to LION 10.7.3 and my problem now is that only the HDMI is working.

Hello, Cucho! Could you please tell me how can I get my GTX 295 (dual PCB) fully working on Lion 10.7.3?

PS: My card doesn't have HDMI port; only DVI. =(((

hey, leomenassun. If ur Graphics Card doesn't have HDMI then probably it's a Single PCB. Single PCB have the fan in the center of the card. If that matches your card then at least u can filter more guides easily.

-Do u have Snow Leopard working fully and u are getting ready to upgrade to Lion? or u have Lion already installed?

I'm going to assume that u have your hackintosh working with the Retail method from this page, and that u deleted any other kexts that u installed or method.

IF u don't know what I mean in the info below send me a PM.

To get it to work fully with Lion (after first boot into Lion):
-I deleted that EFIstring that u had to inserted into org.chameleon.boot.plist. for Snow Leopard (it's not need it anymore in Lion).
---Add GraphicsEnabler=Yes to your org.chameleon.boot.plist located in /Extra/

-Install the original drivers
http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda-mac-driver.html CUDA drivers
http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-270.00.00f01-driver.html Nvidia Drivers

...IF that doesn't work try this kext (only members, if u r not a member open a new tab and sign up first and then return to the link and download)
http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2369&page=2

Another option that I haven't try
http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2370 It may not give you full acceleration (Meaning you may not play HD videos as easy and your "desktop bar" on the top would not look "translucent"

Give me more info of what u have done so far. USE KextBeast to install kexts (placed them on the desktop)

Good luck :beachball:

Ps...did u use MultiBeast for PostInstallation on Lion???

Despite having no hdmi port and the fan in the center, I'm sure my card is dual pcb because in device manager (in windows) - sorry for this comparison, but I had to - it appears as if I had 2 graphic cards!

I have already Lion 10.7.3 installed.

I have already tried your method posted here http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index ... 7.3#NVIDIA but I was not successful. =/

By the way, I don't know what is an EFI string, I don't know how to do one and I don't know how to delete the one located into org.chameleon.boot.plist (if it exists). =/

Sorry, I'm completely newbie in hackintosh. =/////

PS: I didn't use MultiBeast.

Cucho, God bless you! I'm very thankful for your attention! Sorry for my English. I'm brazilian! ;)

FINALLY, I GOT MY DUAL PCB GTX 295 WORKING UNDER LION 10.7.3 WITH FULL ACCELERATION!!!
FIRST OF ALL, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK CUCHO, WHO HAS GIVEN ME ALL POSSIBLE HELP AND SUPPORT. CUCHO, I’M VERY VERY THANKFUL!!!
IN ORDER TO GET SUCH RESULTS, CUCHO EDITED FOR ME MY org.chameleon.boot.plist FILE. I’VE JUST REPLACED MINE FOR THIS EDITED ONE. AFTER THAT, I INSTALLED THE LATEST NVIDIA DISPLAY AND CUDA DRIVERS (VERSIONS 270.00.00f01 and 4.2.7, respectively) AND I REBOOTED THE SYSTEM.
PS: IN ORDER TO FIND AND REPLACE YOUR org.chameleon.boot.plist FILE, SELECT IN FINDER MENU: GO > COMPUTER > PARTITION WITH LION INSTALLED > EXTRA.
I’VE UPLOADED THE EDITED org.chameleon.boot.plist FILE AND NVIDIA DISPLAY AND CUDA DRIVERS IN MY SKYDRIVE PUBLIC FOLDER (https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=ae1bc2b4 ... C25C%21419).

GOOD LUCK! ;D

PORTUGUÊS

FINALMENTE, CONSEGUI ACELERAÇÃO GRÁFICA COMPLETA DA MINHA GTX 295 DUAL PCB NO LION 10.7.3!!!
PRIMEIRAMENTE, EU GOSTARIA DE AGRADECER AO CUCHO, QUE ME DEU TODA AJUDA E APOIO POSSÍVEIS. CUCHO, SOU MUITO MUITO GRATO!!!
PARA CONSEGUIR TAIS RESULTADOS, O CUCHO EDITOU O MEU ARQUIVO org.chameleon.boot.plist. EU APENAS SUBSTITUÍ O MEU ARQUIVO ORIGINAL PELO EDITADO. DEPOIS DISSO, EU INSTALEI OS DRIVERS MAIS ATUAIS DA NVIDIA PARA O VÍDEO E PARA O CUDA (VERSÕES 270.00.00f01 E 4.2.7, RESPECTIVAMENTE) E REINICIEI O SISTEMA.
OBS: PARA LOCALIZAR O SEU ARQUIVO org.chameleon.boot.plist E SUBSTITUÍ-LO, VÁ AO MENU DO FINDER E ENTRE EM: IR > COMPUTADOR > PARTIÇÃO ONDE O LION ESTÁ INSTALADO> EXTRA.
EU SALVEI O ARQUIVO org.chameleon.boot.plist E OS DRIVERS DE VÍDEO E DO CUDA NA PASTA PÚBLICA DO MEU SKYDRIVE (https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=ae1bc2b4 ... C25C%21419).

BOA SORTE! ;D

Que bom que ajudou mais um! ;)

Acrescenta no org.chameleon.boot.plist :

<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Talvez resolva seu problema da App Store!

Hello, Cucho!

It's me again... bad news... =/
