Geekbench, is this a okay score?

Well, considering the graphics card, that could be it. I don't see what else it could be. Mid 6000 is an AWESOME score though- check out these scores from early 2009 for Mac models:

The best 4 core Mac Pro on that list got mid-5000s. I'm thinking that computer probably cost about $2500 or more.

And the best Core2Duo score I've seen is like 3500. Keep in mind these are about a year old, but you get the point- the new i5/i7s are crazy fast. Your computer is fast. :D

Wow I am surprized  I am good with this score then :) considering the price diffrence

Geekbench screenies

How about sharing your successes. I'm stoked. My Hackintosh now does everything right AFAIK. :D

I guess I shouldn't feel bad about my 7682 score in x64 mode then. I think that puts me slightly in the lead so far...

I don't know how I missed this thread and started the other but it would be nice to start adding in some performance tips and benchmark improvements, (if any).

I didn't realize it but at the time I ran geekbench I had iStat and several other server apps running in the background, I'll have to do a clean boot and run it again to see if it goes up at all.

I'd like to OC mine but I'm using the stock Intel cooler (which is very, very quiet but I've read it's actually good enough to OC with to some extent).

I have no clue what the acceptable temp range is for the i5 cores though.

What's really weird is that each core gives a different temperature reading according to iStat. 108, 104, 106 and 102 F at the moment. I've seen it go as high as 120F under load.

The bios temp alarm for the CPU doesn't kick in until 60C / 140F.

Does the 32/64 bit selector app work on these hacks set up w/ Chameleon and so on? I'd prefer using that to switch rather than having to edit anything.

You can easily run these puppies up to 80 degrees C if not more, however it's not good if they run hot for extended periods of time. I would set the temp alarm at 90/95 degrees. Still the stock cooler is cheap junk and always has been...
