Hello all! Built a machine for a friend with the following specs:
Gigabyte H170-Gaming 3
Core i7 6700k
GTX 1070 8GB
32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2133MHZ
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD
EVGA 600W Plus Bronze PSU
Everything works smoothly under High Sierra 10.13.1 except for Final Cut Pro... Using the latest 10.3.4 version, when trying to add some chroma keying effects to timeline the CPU cooler bumps all its way up and the GPU stays quiet as if its not being used at all! Also the performance in FCPX is sluggish as there is no GPU acceleration and CPU goes up to 90% of usage instead of drawing processing power from graphics card... GTX 1070 is OPENCL compatible, but it looks like FCPX does not know how to use it and uses only CPU to process things... On adobe premiere everything works as expected does not matter if using CUDA or OPENCL or METAL... Anyone experiencing something like that?
