Hey guys,

I really want to keep my HP PC intact, with Windows 8 on it, so i would like to install my hackintosh on an external drive. When i plug both my installation usb and my external, i launch the setup with cpus=1. But only my internal hard drive and installation usb come up where it says " Select the disk " . What should i do to install hackintosh unto my external ?

Processor : Intel Core i7 2670QM Sandy Bridge
Motherboard Model : 181B
BIOS : Insyde (version F.09)
Memory : 8GB RAM
GPU : Intel HD Graphics 3000, and nVidia GEFORE GT 630M 2GB

Not a desktop. Moved to laptop support.

You're getting Local APIC panic. You need to install the KernelPatcher module from Chameleon:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/231075-chameleon-22svn-official-pkg-installer-binaries/

Use cpus=1 as a work around, or install both to your USB installer and to your final installation.

You need to partition the target disk in Disk Utility in order to install there. Be familiar with the guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

So after many attempts, the external appeared on the list and i managed to install Mavericks on it. I'm using Multibeast to download the drivers as we speak, but i couldn't find my audio codec, the Realtek ALC650. I tried to play some music before that, but there is no sound. What should i do ?

( i got the info from http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/si...x.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken )

Audio: Best result with patched AppleHDA. Google 'patch AppleHDA guide'. Search for suitable AppleHDA or patch it yourself. Apply appropriate DSDT patches.

DSDT patches you need for AppleHDA: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "Audio Layout 12" (change layout-id from 12 to the layout-id used by the patched AppleHDA)
Apply: "IRQ Fix"

I'll try the AppleHDA patch later this day, but i don't think i'll be able to pull this off.

And i can't connect to Wi-Fi, i have the Realtek RTL8100C, so i installed the Realtek RTL81xx v0.0.90 through MultiBeast, but it doesn't work, even after a restart. I tried connecting to the modem through a cable (ethernet),but i get stuck in a loop, where a page asks if there are devices attached to the one that restarted, i click continue, tells me to restart the device, and then when i click continue, i get the devices pages (the first one)

WiFi: Depends on having compatible hardware. Use DPCIManager->PCI List to find out what you have. Compatible chipsets and the procedures for making them work are covered here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

Your Ethernet device (realtek 810x), not to be confused with Wifi, is likely supported. See: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/296190-driver-for-realteks-rtl810x-fast-ethernet-series/

Your WiFi, BCM94313HMG2L [14e4:4727], or BCM94313HMGB [14e4:4727] is not supported and must be replaced.

So i managed to get Ethernet to work, thank you. But does that mean that i have to buy the BCM94360CS2 to get WiFi to work ? And will it fit in my hp pavillion dv6 ? I saw on ebay that it costs 120$, true ?

There are many inexpensive options for WIFi. Keep in mind your bios may implement a whitelist where only certain cards are allowed.
