Just to follow-up on this thread...
I was able to get Yosemite installed on a SuperMicro X9DAi board with no problem! Check out this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-support/147013-success-supermicro-x9dai-yosemite.html
In the end, I had to pay $40 for the Evo Hyper 212 CPU heatsink to get the system working (already had the MB, CPUs, RAM, SSD, etc). I will be getting a second heatsink early next week now that I have verified Yosemite works on this board. Currently, I am using my Radeon HD 3870 card until I can get a good price on one of the 290x cards.
Using a single-socket E5-2630 CPU (six core 2.6GHz), I was able to get a GeekBench3 score of 2225 for a single CPU (32bit mode) and 13470 for multiCPU. Adding the second CPU should get me close to 27000 for the multiCPU test.
Not bad for $80, eh?
