Snow Leopard on another partition (not working - possibly because it now thinks I have 10.8 kernel?

Why would you have 10.8 kernel installed to your SL partition?

I think my current problem is more to do with the boot loader thinking it is too late a model to run SL?

The bootloader doesn't care...
 
Yes, Mavericks is booting using Clover

I managed to patch the DSDT using Maciblahetc

I now get panic errors?

Can you help please?

My main reason for running this machine is to use SL on it so I can run my old Rosetta apps

I think I have done that now but I do not know what "uncomment the lines" means

As an aside, because I have a second drive on my machine, I can mount the drive in VMWare and it boots

Same with Mavericks

I have done that

I reinstalled Clover using the ProBook installer for Clover and patched the DSDT it created

I replaced the DSDT with the patched one

I rebooted

The machine still does exactly the same thing

You cannot use the ProBook Installer to create your DSDT. It is only for ProBooks.

You will need to apply patches manually to your own DSDT using MaciASL.
 
I don't understand your comment, it is a ProBook 4540s with an i3 Sandy Bridge processor.

I have extracted the DSDT.aml using Linux

I have attached it, in case there is some other anomaly which has yet to come to light.

Is there a list of patches to apply to make Snow Leopard AND Mavericks work with Clover somewhere?
