There is a low cost hardware solution that I have used off and on for years.

A SATA driver duplicator. The target drive has to be equal to or greater then the source drive. This is a single button press and wait for completion. You can go from 3.5" drives to 2.5" or the other way around. SSDs can also be duplicated.

The down side of this solution for some is that you have to handle the drives.

The system that I have is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ry_dual_drive_dock-_-9SIA3X52592453-_-Product

Yes it is. I thought so much of it that I gave one to my buddy as a birthday present.

Does the Disk Utility partition tab allow re-sizing the partition by extending the bottom 'window shade'?
[edit]
And the answer is that El Cap & Sierra cannot resize a disk, but 10.5.8< probably can. (I didn't want to remove the disk, walk it over to my G5, install it in a caddy, and try to re-size it.)
.
Whether you are using the older version of Disk Utility or the one in Sierra, both allow you to extend the main OS partition to include adjacent free space. In the older version there is a small triangle at the bottom right corner of the partition you can place your pointer on and hold the left mouse button while you drag the bottom line of the partition down to include the free space. In the new version in Sierra, there is a small circle on the edge of the larger drive "pie". Place the pointer in the circle, hold the left mouse button and drag the circle around the edge of the "pie" to include as much of the free space as you wish.

I'm just too busy for most of the hacking required in a hackintosh and look for something easy, even if it
involves money. This would be great for me and appreciate the link.

Making sure I read correctly. No copying EFI, reinstalling Clover anything with this. Just a bit for bit copy?

If so it's $22 on Amazon and qualifies for Prime. And sold!!
