Display port = black screen, DVI = fine. huh?

I just installed 10.6.8 with Multibeast 3.7.1 and for some reason I can't get my display port to work but DVI works just fine. Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Same problem with me-- except mini Display Port.

The inelegant solution I took to fix the problem was copy 3 ATI kexts from 10.6.7 to 10.6.8 in S/L/E.

Of course, I guess that means I don't get any of 10.6.8's gpu improvements.

I don't have to use display port and since my monitor is only 1920x1200 I guess there is no big difference between DVI and Displayport but its such a strange issue.

Which 3 kexts did you copy? Were you able to just copy them in or did you use kextbeast? Also, do you have the 3 still?

You only have to pick 10.6.7's ATIFramebuffer, ATI5000Controller & ATISupport kexts
Get them from the 10.6.7 Combo Update and extract with Pacifist
