The discrete graphics capability in a switched dual-GPU configuration is not supported with OS X on hacks. Best you can do is disable the discrete part with SSDT/DSDT patches.
 
Hi Rehabman,

What causes Yosemite to show only 7 MB of Graphics RAM whilst Mavericks shows 1536MB in a dual boot environment using the same EFI partition?

Is that possible to use discrete GPU and disable Intel HD4400?
Really appreciated.

Hello all ,

I follow all the steps of these guide and i got a problem with the graphics
I got i7 4500U with 4400

I got a problem when im trying to preview photos
at very first time i open a photo its OK , after that when im trying to close preview and reopen again , preview program is not closing and i must use Force Quit to close it.
When im trying to reopen the Photo then all the Photo is grey.

I use 3rd party app and there is the same issue

I think something wrong happened when i patch with [2.05] Haswell HD4400/HD4600/HD5000

I got some questions plz

a. im at 10.10.1 need to upgrade to 10.10.3 for this FIX?

b. i am deleting AppleIntelHD5000Graphics needed to delete AppleIntelHD5000GraphicsGLDriver.bundle and AppleIntelHD5000GraphicsVADriver.bundle too ?

c.i am using clover method fixed .
so if i understand correctly. import the config from EFI /clover (hdd) and after that going to
Devices - FackeID-IntelGFX and paste 0x0a168086 (which is my HD4400 Mobile)
after that going
Graphics - Checking Inject Intel (in my case was checked) and paste 0x0a260006 at ig-platform-id

am i OK here or needed to continue to fix 9mb framebuffer too?

The fix is similar enough for 10.10.1 that you can just follow it.

Don't delete kexts.

Read the guide carefully. It calls for FakeID 0x04128086.

am i OK here or needed to continue to fix 9mb framebuffer too?

If you have glitches on the menu bar, yes. It is typical with displays with higher resolution than 1600x900.
