Are there any free solutions for both an NTSF environment to read AND write to HFS+? I installed a disk onto a SATA channel for doing Time Machine backups, but I would like to share this disk for Windows 7 backups.

Of course, this may be academic, because I'm not sure if W7 can backup to a SATA destination. For some reason there is this thing in the back of my mind that says W7 backups must be to USB or network storage and not a disk on a SATA channel in the same PC.

I suppose I could partition the disk into two.

There is no reason why you can't back up Win 7 to an internal SATA drive. Personally I would want to keep the backups for Win 7 and OS X on different drives.

Not sure of "free" solutions to read and write between NTFS and HFS+. I use MacDrive to read and write to HFS+ drives when using Win 7, and Tuxera NTFS to read and write to NTFS drives when using OS X.
