I'm about to order components for my 1st Hackintosh - somewhere between recommended build #3 and #4. There is about $100 difference in the motherboards suggested in these two builds. I would appreciate any comments to help decide between these boards or anything in between. :?

So far I've decided on:

cpu: i5 2500K
gpu: GA- HD6850 OR 6870
ram: Corsair Vengeance (4 x 4gb) - up from 3x - thanks to phil_phister
ssd: Crucial M4 64gb (just over $100 right now)
cpu cooler: Scythe SCMG II
Lian Li mid tower aluminum case - not sure which one yet
Apple wireless keyboard & trackpad

Already have :
- HD for Windows (dbl boot)
- Seasonic 650 watt power supply
- Mac Box Set 10.6.3

Intended use: General office apps, internet use, some home video and photo editing. Always have 4 or 5 apps running at the same time.

Comments on the build in general also appreciated. I do plan on overclocking.

Hi

SB chips like i5 2500k are dual channel, so you need to install RAM in pairs, not triplets.. So 2 x 4GB or 4 x 4GB etc - Not the 3x 4Gb you've got listed..

Oh and I'd save money on the case and put it into the components ;)

Thanks for the feedback. You're right about the RAM - I'll up that to 4 x 4Gb.

I'm looking at a couple of Lian Li mid tower cases for about $80 - $100. I know I can get a bit cheaper but I move my computer into the living room and use my 37" Sony LCD fairly often.. my current Antec case weighs over 30lbs empty

I do plan on overclocking. Is it advisable to put both OS on the same SSD or is that likely to cause a problem? Thanks for the feedback.
