cant shutdown/sleep

I have windows 7 lion and snow leopard and none of them sleep or shut down
The monitors turn off but that's it. I patched my BIOS . But I can't crest s dsdt. Tried to edit it based on that guide. But I got 142 errors.

I've never been able to get my 10.6.8 to sleep without freezing. I am using a tower so it is not as crucial as folks using a laptop who want to save battery life. So, sorry not much help with that part.

Here's what I do to shutdown. I close all apps like mail and Safari. When I choose "Shut down" I don't let it count down the 1 minute or immediately either, I hit the shutdown button in the count-down window after about 5 or 10 seconds. Not sure why it works like that. I guess the OS needs to finalize some routine before telling my hackintosh to shutdown.
