Hi everyone,

I have been reading stuff about hackintosh for quite a long time and I finally installed El Capitan on my freshly assembled PC :)

I installed the HD 530 driver with MultiBeast but I am now facing a strange issue: the bottom of the screen is flickering or showing a black bar. This part of the screen flickers at the speed I am typing or when I move the mouse around, which makes me think it is a refresh rate issue or something related?

When I first installed Windows 10, I faced a similar issue, but it disappeared as soon as I installed all the drivers.

I am using a 4K Philips BDM4065UC display, an Intel 6700K and a Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha motherboard.

Here are photos and a video showing the issue:

Any idea? Please :)

Thanks!

Problem (apparently) solved :D

In case someone was facing the same issue, I just changed the DVMT from 32 to 256 in the BIOS settings.

I still have the "boot screen garble" issue but I don't really care as long as I don't use the PC when it boots up :)

By the way, does anyone know which value is the "best" for NVMT? I suppose it depends on the memory quantity installed, I have 16Go for now.

Is it gonna "break" something on the Windows 10 side if I push the cursor too far?

Hey Sykbaing,

It's great that you got the hd530 working on 4K.

I have the same monitor, how is the performance? is it acceptable?

Would be ideal to run 4k with a low power/IGP solution.

Cheers.

Hi, thanks for your message.

I eventually uninstalled macOS so I won't be able to answer about the performance on a daily basis. I have a GTX 1070 installed in my computer and I am waiting for Pascal drivers to be released to switch back to macOS.

I didn't want to switch back and forth from the iGPU and the Nvidia GPU, that's the main reason why I am not using macOS for now.

However, the performance was fine, no particular issue with the Intel GPU, except the one listed above (boot screen garble).

Hope it helps :)
