Best way to partition a new shared HD

I just got a new 1.5 TB HD that I am going to put into my Customac running OSX and Windows 7. I am going to use this drive to store my applications, music, pics, and video. What would the best way to partition this drive be. Should I create equal windows and mac partitions? Or should I create a windows partition a mac partition for OS specific aplications and a partition for files video, music, and pics that both OS can use?. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I want to make sure I find the best way before I do something dumb.

exFat seems like the simplest answer. Read and write on both SL and Windows 7, just be sure to format it through Windows 7. Right now I have Windows 7 and Lion installed on separate SSDs and a 1TB HDD (NTFS) for storage. I use MacDrive 8 to access Lion from Windows. But I'm thinking of formatting the 1Tb to exFat.

I too vote exFAT. NTFS is also an option if you setup your fstab to automount rw the ntfs volume.

But, as my comrade mentioned, exFAT would be the simplest.
