Ati HD 5870 seems slow

Not sure if its being used properly, it seems like it pauses very slightly when scrolling up and down web pages. Tried running geekbench it won't run to test it. I have graphics enable set to no and 64 bit kernal. it recognises as hd5000 under system profile.. any help would be great..

You might state exactly which 5870 you have. Sounds like you are using the newly released ATI kexts intended for the latest MB Pro. (that's the reason your Geekbench doesn't work)

Try running the free CINEBENCH program and compare your OPENGL fps scores to others. I get 32.xx for the FPS score with my 5870 and a stock clocked i7 870.

You may want to consider using the ATI Experimental bootloader with GraphicsEnabled=Yes instead.

Also your jumpiness could be due to something else like a mouse or keyboard issue.

I will try benchmarking it and I have a XFX RADEON HD5870 1GB DDR5 HD
I tried two mice and keyobards just to make sure it was that.

Install ^Andy^'s bootloader from my guide (even though it's for SB boards, it also fixes the OpenGL problems such as geekbench, steam games, cider games) and set GraphicsEnabler=Yes

ran cinebench with graphic enabled=no 27FPS and same 27 FPS with graphic enabled = yes...hmmm.
