did you apply the alc892 patch in dsdt editor?

if not, just select alc892 non dsdt hdaenabler in multibeast to get sound working

It's 887 on this board, so will try that one now. Though, there is no 887, but there is a 888b, and I noticed MultiBeast's 887/888b is listed as same in non-DSDT HDA enablers.

I'm assuming you 892 cos that's what codec your board uses?

good thing youre on point with your board specs!

mine uses 889, but most of the asus z68 boards use 892

it happens more often then youd think

ok, install these two kexts using kextbeast or kext utility

then after installing, restart. after restart, go into system preferences>audio, and set sound output to correct output

no need to delete any kexts youve already installed. you need alc887 non-dsdt enabler with these kexts

Gonna try this tonight. Didn't have time last night.

Also, I tested sleep and it doesn't work. It puts the system to sleep but doesn't wake again. Any ideas?

With my previous Asus P5Q SE2 motherboard, I solved sleep by put the jumpers on S3 mode, the selecting S3 only in the suspend mode. Is there anything like this in the newer boards that might solve it? Not checked yet.
