hi i am in the process of building an htpc windows/mac mediacenter/gaming machine for myself, and i have a couple of questions regarding the apple remote.
i want to be able to use an apple remote as i like it because its much more simplistic than media center remotes on pc's. i am buying a htpc case with built in IR function. my questions are will an apple remote work with a hackintosh? would it still work in windows as well? i would like to be able to turn on/off the machine with the remote, though i understand this would probably be very difficult, so i would be fine with just being able to sleep/wake the machine if i can at least do that. would i be able to navigate basic media center apps (itunes, front row, xbmc, windows media center, etc) with apple remote? im fine with not being able to do advanced stuff like with a mce remote, i just want basic navigation and the power to sleep/wake my machine on either Operating system at will.
anyone with experience on this would be much appreciated. thank you.
