Ancient IBM IntelliStation M Pro

Hi guys,

We have an IBM IntelliStation M Pro (9229-52M) which with an SSD seems to run Windows 10 quite well, but all our other machines are Macs so I'm looking into the possibility of running El Capitan on this machine too.

Here are the hardware details:

Core 2 Duo E6400 CPU
6 GB RAM

ATI Radeon HD 6800 (1002:6738)
Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet (14E4:1600)
High Definition Audio Device (11D4:1981)
Standard SATA AHCI Controller (8086:27C1)

From the reading I have done so far it looks like I may be out of luck when it comes to sound support, can anyone clarify? Also it would be nice to have working sleep support, not sure if this is still an issue with ATI cards.

Nowhere in that document did I read the word "UEFI". If it is not UEFI capable then you will not be able to install OSX as the drive will need to be formatted as GPT/GUID which creates an EFI partiton on the disk and UEFI/EFI works with the BIOS NVRAM.
