AMD's Radeon 370 - 380 - 390(X)

You guys really helped me with this, I really hope apple supports the r9 380 soon...

Apparently there's support for AMD's mobile R9 3xx cards in El Capitan and the current high-end MacBook Pro has an M370X in it. I'm not sure how that will spill over to AMD's desktop cards but it's promising.

My unflashed Sapphire HD 6870 Vapor X (2 DP)/Duckweed supports 4 displays. An IOReg screenshot doesn't show acceleration, power management or connectors. The best way to convey your success (luck) with the default driver is to include the exact model of your graphics card and note the working connectors.
I know, I just wanted to show the use of RadeonFramebuffer with the IOReg screenshot, nothing more. 2 working screens can be seen in the system profiler window.
If I had better (= more comprehensive) testing equipment (e.g. display port monitor or 3 screens) I'd do this for all of my cards. With my gear I can only say that 1x DVI and 1x HDMI at a time work fine.

As said at the beginning of this thread, support for the "new" chipsets (Hawaii and Tonga) is already there. R9 380 and R9 390 were not yet confirmed but should be working though.
The M370X is int rMBP is actually nothing new, it's no more than a rebadged HD 7770 from '12 (really high-end stuff :D).

Doesn't the 380 have Antigua Pro chipset? Or are Antigua Pro and Tonga just the same?

Does that mean the r9 380 is supported? And if it's supported will the PowerColor version work too?

I agree with Fl0r!an. An Early Adapter's life can be hell unless you're willing to take on a lot of risk. When I was coaching, I used this phrase a lot: "Don't rush to fail!"

R9 380 is supported OOB, here are some screenshots, it's detected as Tonga 285, because that's what it's, a pimped tonga 285
