would the amd 7 xxx kext allow the utilisation of this gpu? I'm in need of an opencl powerhouse for maya!

It may work! From what I've read the Nvidia Quadro 410 should work. Not that powerful, but any other kepler based one from Nvidia should work no problem would be my guess. If I had a FirePro sitting around I would test it out!
