Check /var/log/install.log.

From what I can see it seems to be the SSDT generator in PBI causing the errors i'll attach incase you want to have a look at it.
Tried running Piker-Alpha/ssdtPRGen.sh and it failed too saying

Something is wrong with the way you installed. It is not detecting your CPU model correctly.

Re-download from the Mac App Store and do a fresh install.

For 10.10, we do not use Unibeast on the Probook. Follow the Clover guide previously linked.

For now I'm sticking with 10.8 as I have had nothing but problems with clover on this particular machine,
only seems to load in safe boot so I am unable to mount the efi partition... was getting the same end result ie the PBI-CE failing.

I have a 4530s. Clover works, but you must follow the instructions carefully.

For 10.8, there is the original guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/77057-guide-installing-mountain-lion-hp-probook.html

I also have a 4530, 10.10/win7 clover build works fine but if I pop this i7 in there it just won't play ball.

I Have followed that guide to trouble shoot the issues I was having but have decided to stick the i3-2330m back inside,
done that ran PBI 6.1.13R and I now have everything working with no boot flags.

The i7 works in win7/linux could the problem have been caused by the system defs I choose in PBI? (i7 quad core SB) which gave me a sys def of macbook pro 8.2. should it not be 8.1?

Make sure the i7 is not an ES/QS chip. OS X does not support ES/QS chips... only OEM or retail CPUs.

The Intel MEI device is there... that's all I can confirm with lspci output.

As to whether it is ES/QS, I think CPU-Z may show it.
