Gigabyte just added 4790K to CPU support list of GA-Z87X-UD5 TH. They told me they had to run multiple tests and verifications before it could be officially supported.
4790 vs 4790K processor ? Opinions ?

Thinking about upgrading from the 4770K to 4790K. I guess the transition should be seamless, no? Or would this lead to compatibility issues?

I built a machine using a 4970 (not K) and Gigabyte Z87-WIFI
Just had to update the BIOS and it worked fine. Used a cheap old chip to do that.
