Hello there !
After using my Mavericks hackintosh for a fair period of time, and happy with it (thanks to my TonyMacx86 readings and their tools), I come because I am trying to solve some annoyances :
Here is the config :
Gigabyte Z77-DS3H
8Gb RAM
i5 IvyBridge 3570K
Gigabyte GTX 760 OC
10.9.1
Screen on the GPU (the HD4000 is only used under windows)
Sound through a Scarlett 2i4 (USB)
DSDT free install from Multibeast, with added universal USB drivers, Ethernet, Sound, and Mac Pro 3,1.
-First, shutdown (or reboot).
(for the record I use my Mac most of the time with a sleep/wake up cycle, but sometimes I reboot under Windows 7). So when I do, I hit reboot. The Mac starts to shutdown, and get stuck at the notification center.
I mean the wallpaper is still here, Finder has been shut down, I can only click on the NC or use my physical switch to make the Mac OS window appear again, then hit reboot a second time, and it reboots normally.
Here is the whole process from the console, I couldn't find something alone :
-Then, the freezes :
Sometimes the system froze on me. I couldn't do any actions (I've seen people reporting freezes where they could use the mouse), here I only have one solution left which is to force a shutdown.
It happens mainly with MplayerX/Safari usage, if I recall correctly.
I have a log of one of them :
With this issue, I tried some things, because I think it's linked to the GPU (screen freeze), the USB3 (I had a freeze once when I connected a drive, and the disk mounting is erratic, sometimes Mac OS sees the disk sometimes not), or BIOS/Motherboard / the profile (here Mac Pro 3,1).
After looking at the forums, I changed the profile to Mac Pro 5,1 (and deleted the ECC Ram ktext), but the Mac was stuck at boot in the rotating icon.
I tried to solve it by booting in -x mode, re-lauching Multibeast, but even with Mac Pro 3,1 I needed to go in my BIOS and do a default reset to put back the option from the Gig Z77 MB's guide from TonyMacX86 (even though I don't remember changing anything since the first setup).
It's back the way it was (Mac Pro 3,1) now, USB3 seems to respond better, but I had a shutdown problem today.
I think it's only a matter of time before I see another system freeze, so I am now asking if you people here see a solution to this.
Maybe an iMac profile, an AGPM issue…
Thanks in advance !
