Hello, I am trying to make a hackintosh out of my older HP Pavilion dv6700 notebook PC in BIOS ( dv6830us exact model ) with a Intel Core2Duo. I am really struggling with getting iBoot or any other bootloader to boot as it just spins and spins. I have tried to adjust the BIOS to AHCI mode but no setting exists in the PhoenixBIOS. I have pulled the harddrive and it is SATA. I have seen this model work on a youtube video but I am having NO LUCK  I am trying to install OS X 10.6.3 SL from the original install DVD I purchased. Any help or direction with this would be GREAT appreciated. Thank You in advance

Boot verbose (-v) to troubleshoot.

Thanks for the reply RehabMan, I currently have NO Operating System installed, should I install Vista or Win 7 and then enable boot logging. What are your thoughts/advice? Thank You for any help

No. You're using iBoot, correct? Just boot verbose (-v) from iBoot so you can see what is happening.

Yes I am trying to boot using iBoot 3.3.0 but all I get is a flashing _, then Operating System not found, if I try to enter anything I get Operating System not found again and again, so nothing is happening but I can hear then disc spin. Sorry to be such a newbee, :banghead: but how do I proceed from here. Can you give some instruction or a link for instruction. THANK YOU for the help

Are you using your BIOS hotkey to specifically select your CD/DVD drive?
Did you create the iBoot DVD/CD correctly?

I have set it to boot from CD/DVD first and also tried to select to boot from CD/DVD from the boot options. I have burn't the iBoot.iso to a CD and also tried a DVD.... No luck with either, just spins up and then get a flashing _

I can boot a Windows or Linux ISO with no issue but iBoot does not boot

Make sure you created it correctly. Use your BIOS hotkey to boot specifically from the iBoot. Don't rely on BIOS priority.

I have check the burned CD and or DVD and it is the iBoot.iso file on the disc ( I burn't it the 1st time and got 2 folders and a txt file ) but have reburn't it to get only the ISO.

When I click on F9 for boot menu I get ATAPI CD/DVD ROM Drive and Notebook Hard Drive. I select ATAPI CD/DVD ROM Drive, click it and disc spins then I get Operating System not found then the flashing _
